I've been a little MIA for the last few days (sorry about that) due to the overwhelming changes going on in our lives - things are a little up in the air right now and that's taken away my blog time. Plus I'm getting some work for my at-home business which is an extremely positive, great sign!
Where are we at?
Well, I started a new job about a week and a half ago. I was very excited about it! John and I went out to buy Grown Up Clothes, I prepared my Grown Up Demeanor and practiced walking in my Grown Up Heels. But as it turned out, my soul-sucking first day of work also turned out to be my last. Sure, the company was fine - but it was in sales and let's just say I'm not cut out for manipulating, lying or pressuring people to buy a product/service they don't really want and - let's face it - don't really need.
Birthday Party
To get my mind off of everything and be a little more productive than I have been since making some life adjustments (eg. first/last day of work), John and myself have planned a birthday party / rooftop shindig. Which means that I had the fun of planning a buffet-style menu! And we all know that buffets are truly a joy to plan. That's not sarcastic. Thanks to the help of my dad & John's mum (teeeam!) we're putting together some delicious food and will have a blast.
A few recipes are new to me but I'm excited to share them & let you know how they went - I'm most excited to brew up some homemade ginger ale inspired by / recipe-entirely-from our friends Lauren & Zoltan (who, by the way, make wonderful sweet music and I encourage you to check them out. Right now they're recording with Aaron Marsh of Copeland and will be starting their cross-Canada tour in a week or so!).
Keep posted for progress!
