Thank you!

Now that I have some closure, this will be my last post focused entirely on my Grandmother. There are some major changes going on in the lives of me and John and we hope to elaborate on them soon - God is taking us in new, strange, crazy directions we didn't really plan on... we think... and we're waiting for things to come together (if so) to really find out what's going on. (And no, we're not pregz.)

The memorial service for my Grandmother yesterday was a huge success. We had around 75 to 80 people show up, which is quite a lot for a woman who has said goodbye to many of her friends already and is now with them in Heaven. The pastor led the service, I had the opportunity to speak, my Dad shared from his heart on behalf of the kids, and there was a very full open mic time followed by some inspiring words from my Grandfather and a letter from my Grandmother's friend across Canada. It was followed by a wonderful rendition of Amazing Grace and following the service our family all went over to our Grandparents' house to share a bottle of champagne that she had been saving for the right time.

I love gardening and had the opportunity to plant some beautiful flowers that were brought to the service, so my Grandfather can take care of them over the next few months and they can stand as a testament to the life my Grandmother lived - full, bright and joyful.
