Hello! I'm Samantha. In real life I go by Sam, but on paper that looks like a boy's name. So Samantha it is.
I'm excited to be a part of the Influence Network and have learned so much and met some really awesome people (thanks, twitter) via IN.
There we are! |
3 things about me [that you can't figure out from my sidebar]:
1. I am a self-employed mom who works from home. Thankfully I do it with my hubby by my side. This means that I have a lot of juggling to do, balancing, and learning. If YOU are a mom who works from home, I would really love to be in touch with you because I think we're in a unique community & have a unique way of life. I may or may not nurse my child while I respond to emails. Envelopes may or may not get folded in the middle of the living room floor surrounded by toys. I'd go with MAY.
2. I love to get involved. If I see an opportunity to get my hands messy, I will take it. Right now I have dreams of kids ministry, and a bible study about money/love, and I meet with women once a week to do life-talking-stuff. Fortunately I've learned from reading Naptime Diaries that there are ways to be an involved person without being a yes person. See? Blogging rules. Whaaat.
3. My husband & I are committed to becoming debt-free. Even "healthy debt". Student debt. All debt. We're going to be "Gazelle Intense" for the next little while so when our entertainment fund is maxed, don't be offended that we won't be coming out for drinks.
One thing I learned through the Influence Network:
When God tells us to do something, he makes a way for it to happen.
You can find me all across the interweb, but you won't find me at the conference. I live too far away. Canada, eh?
Influence Network @samanthalisa
So nice to "meet" you, Samantha! Kudos to your family for becoming debt free- that's awesome! Wish you could come to the conference!
ReplyDeleteNice to meet you too! Thank you for your encouragement!
Deletelife-talking-stuff. i love that and may or may not be coming up with a list of women nearby to do that with. good luck on the debt-free goal! the husb and i are doing the same thing right now!
ReplyDeleteYou know, life-talking and Jesus-talking. It's the best kind of talking.
DeleteI hope you do come up with a group! We've done 3 studies by Cynthia Heald (Becoming A Woman Of...) - this time we're doing Becoming A Woman of Prayer and it seems like it's going to be awesome.
Congrats on going debt-free!
You are so inspiring my friend!! Debt free is where people dream to be! (That rhymed! How poetic). Love your heart to get in there and get involved.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ashley! I dream to be debt free & I appreciate your poetry (eh? eh?)
DeleteYour personality shines through in your writing :) Too bad you live in Canada, I'd love to meet you at the conference!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kerrie! I wish I could be there!
DeleteI love a good beachy photo! What beach? I look forward to getting to know you better through The Influence Network! <3
ReplyDeleteThat was in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic - just 2 weeks ago!
DeleteI think debt-free is a fabulous thing to be working toward! I'm trying to not rely on my credit card as much anymore (fortunately it's got a low limit and is fairly easy to pay off), but I'm especially hoping to knock out my student loan. I was blessed to not need to take out very much for my schooling, but it's still more money than I've ever owned at any given point in my entire life!
ReplyDeleteWhere in Canada are you? You could definitely still come to the conference! There were several Canadians there last year!
Oh awesome! I'm outside of Barrie - about 9 hrs. drive away... and I don't drive! And I have a 1 (then 1.5) year old, and my husband is shooting 2 weddings that weekend. All of these things seem to be against me, but you never know!
DeleteI'm from Canada too! Where are you from? I'll be at the conference. I like your list of things. It's good stuff. I extra love that you're asking for people to join you in your walk as a home-working-mama. That's beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Nadine! I live in Ontario (outside of Barrie?) I'm glad to know there's another Canadian out there on the internet! Hahah.
DeleteWhere are you from?
Sam!! So glad to get to know more about you! Canada isn't too far to come to the conference! There's a few girls in the network from Canada - I think you all should come!
ReplyDeleteI hope to make it! Our company has 2 weddings that weekend & it's a 9 hr. drive! If I can pull it off, I DEFINITELY will!
