Papercutting

My super-amazing-friend-that-I-adore-and-needs-a-blog (Stacey) and her lovely boyfriend Andrew came to visit John and I last week (yay!) and we loved every minute of their company. These two know how to make me laugh.

Stacey is a super crafty woman: she possesses some skills I wish I had access to. Thankfully, I DO have access to them - yesterday we had craft time together... and I got to keep the craft!

I found the idea of Papercutting on another blog and thought it would be a fun/inexpensive idea to try, with the main goal of sprucing up our Guest Room / Future Nursery. We already had the frames, and the templates were free on this fascinating website, so all I had to buy was cute paper (dollar store!) and exacto knives ($5).

Thankfully Stacey went for the ultra complicated designs so I could fumble with the less curvy (read - no balloons) templates. They turned out really well - now I'm interested to see the result of Brianna, who has also considered the Papercutting endeavour!

  1. woahhh yours look amazing..where did you get that paper??? I did a practice run last weekend, but I haven't been able to use a printer with card stock (I have some plain white cardstock)...don't worry..I'll do it..eventually :p

  2. We got a pack of 10 sheets of scrapbooking paper from the dollar store (for $1)! The knife we used though was from Wal Mart, and it was like an exacto knife (well it was) but it had a loop that goes around your finger so you can maneouvre better.

We didn't print on to card stock - I printed onto regular paper, and then basically taped the regular paper to the scrapbook paper - so when we cut out on regular paper, the scrapbook paper cut, too. If that makes sense. If not I can post a pic!
