A photo dump!

For the first couple of days, we were bleaching our veggies. Then we gave up. So far, our tummies have been fine... but we'll have to do some de-parasite treatment when we go home I think!

Lots of freshness.

Intensive potty training bootcamp has begun.

As at home, John has been doing the majority of the cooking.
He likes it,
I like it,
fair deal.

Lots of rice & beans.
Avocados are actually out of season. We bought some when we first arrived, but it won't be in season until the last month of our visit.
Also, we were making homemade tortillas with masa harina (corn flour), but there are women on the side of the road who make them and sell them for 2 cordobas each (about 10 cents?) so we buy those instead.

I've been enjoying hand washing clothes, although there is a washing machine at our friend's house that we have used once to wash sheets & blankets.

The washing station.
I've also seen dishes washed here, and someone drink from the tap, so.. it's a variety zone!

This is our coffee maker.

The coffee here is super awesome.

Everlea is enjoying rice!

Lilian is enjoying a lot of screen time. We're still figuring out how to navigate the time during the heat when she's too hot to play and not tired enough to nap.

We baked some bread last weekend!

Water play!

The streets of Leon, which is the oldest city in Nicaragua. We had a trip planned to go to the Beach, missed the turn, and drove for an hour and a half to Leon instead. It is really beautiful, and an interesting mashup of American / French / British business owners, Nicaraguans selling their wares or food, actual Nicaraguans, and backpackers.
