Summer is Officially Over

Well, it seems to be the start of blogging season, because it's certainly the end of the Wedding One.

For those of you who like to read blogs, you may find that the first week of September is riddled with variations of "I'm back!" and a whole slew of cute family photos at the splash park and / or backyard and / or in front of the TV, admitting that they are regula' moms just like you.

Well, the first week of September came and went for me and I was not back. Then the second, then the third; bumping ourselves into October met with the wrap-up of high season for our family-run wedding photography & cinematography business and somewhere in the mix from May to now we moved (twice) and found out we've got One on the Way (!!!!!yay!) and that our daughter is addicted to what we now lovingly call The Street, something we let slide a little too much in order to get through the season.

I had a few goals for summer 2013, and I held them loosely in my hand, prioritizing balance and making it through the day. We went outside a lot, and baked only a little, and we worked a ton (over 20 weddings!). I praise God for the provision 2013 has brought us, and am so thankful for the grace God has for the mistakes we make, even if we make them over and over again.

With that said, we had our last wedding until mid-November and now I'm back. Back to blogging recipes, and DIYs, how-to's, and sneak peeks into our family's simple life. We are now living in a cute little home in a cute little town and we are in a season of happiness and contentment. I'm enjoying this part of our journey where we are getting a moment to breathe, and to take in all the Good that has come our way. These seasons are short and sweet, as we all know, and I'm happy to take this one slow and enjoy the taste.

Glad to be back! Here are a few faves from my summer's instagram.
