Musical Bliss / My Charity: Water

Tonight my hubby John took me to a Brooke Fraser concert down the street (thanks to Brianna for the hook up!) and it was incredible! She is so amazingly talented and humble, and the two traits together are just perfect. I'm so thankful I was able to see her this time around (and that her own hubby was there, I always wondered how being on the road and married would be for a Christian solo artist).

Brooke Fraser at the Opera House in Toronto

All of the songs were great, and her personality shone through which made everything so much more fun. John and I had awesome seats (that's right, we flocked to the balcony before anyone else!) and saw an old friend from a church I went to growing up. I'm pretty sure we'll be doing a lot of seeing-old-friends with every new Christian-esque event that goes on (give me 10 years, I'll have a full youth girls reunion at some Joyce Meyer event, and John and I will round up the troops for coffee after the Gaither Gospel (4th generation) concert). Claaaaassic.

What I loved was that she didn't play the set like the CD from beginning to end, and she didn't focus on too much of her oldies/goodies - it was a really great balance. Everything happened at the right time. No wonder the event sold out. This woman is gifted.

Her cause is My Charity: Water - she's working to raise $50 000 to build 10 wells in central Africa, helping 10 communities, 500 families, and 2500 people. Give today at www.mycharitywater.org/brookefraser :)
