Hello! Perhaps as an artist I shouldn't believe that art is a commodity. But when you look at the cold, hard facts of the art world or even our normal world, if you're good at what you do you want it to pay off.
ReplyDeleteIn regards to Warhol, technically no one NEEDS art, not in the same way we need water and air. But people are a little more complex than matter. In our present society art is more of a glue holding communities in place rather than serving a utilitarian purpose.
